Directories of Families who have adopted from China

Listing of the known directories
These are on-paper directories. In some cases, additional forms of listing and/or communication are operated by adoptive families, such as e-mail lists and webpages, but an e-mail list or webpage never fills the role of an inclusive private directory, because either privacy concerns or limited Internet access (or both) effectively exclude some families.

Directories of China-adoptive families are often specific for one city or province. The directories differ somewhat in what information they catalog, how often revisions are published, how costs are handled, and in policies regarding privacy (i.e., how the directory is distributed or to whom). In most if not all cases, copies of the directories are available only to listed families.
Compilers of these directories typically see them as being potentially valuable to the children in future years, as well as of interest to parents now.

...Addresses of many of the children's welfare institutions (often termed "orphanages" in the West) have been compiled by staff at Lotus Tours (a provider of adoptive travel arrangements) and are listed at their website: <http://www.lotustours.net/info/adoption/addresses.shtml>.
